In 2022, the number of graduates of the Department of Turkology was 14 people. In 2022, the number of graduates were employed and continued their studies in Kazakhstan and foreign universities - 1, the number of those employed in the specialty - 4. The number of maternity leaves - 1. Thus, today "5B021200 - Turkology", "5B021000 - Foreign Philology", the share graduates in the specialties "6M021200 - Turkology", "6M020500 - Philology" and "6D021200 - Turkology" is 43%. Of these, 29% are employed in their specialty.

Thus, today "5B021200 - Turkology", "5B021000 - Foreign Philology", the share graduates in the specialties "6M021200 - Turkology", "6M020500 - Philology" and "6D021200 - Turkology" is 80%. Of these, 60% are employed in their specialty.

PRACTICES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TURKOLOGY

 Professional practice is aimed at expanding and consolidating the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired by students in the course of training, acquiring and improving practical skills in the chosen EP, preparing for future professional activities.

Professional practice is included in the working curricula of all forms of education in accordance with the requirements of the State Mandatory Standard of Education.

The date of the beginning and end of professional practice is set by the schedule of professional practices of students in accordance with the academic calendar, working curriculum and educational program.

 

The purpose of the training and familiarization practice is to acquire primary professional competencies: to familiarize students with the types, functions and tasks of Turkologists/philologists of the Tuet language, which consist in mastering the methods of collecting, systematizing, archival processing of philological material on the studied language and literature, historical, archaeological material on Turkology/Turkish philology; the ability to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in practice during the collection, processing, systematization of materials using traditional methods and modern information technologies, the practical study and description of the phonetic, morphological and lexical features of the studied language.

As a result of practical training for students of the specialties of Turkology and Foreign Philology: Turkish language it is necessary to get acquainted with the system of the bodies of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, international departments of private commercial enterprises, scientific institutes, multinational companies, non-profit non-governmental organizations, cultural centers, etc.

 * familiarize students with the organizational structure of the organization's management;

* establish the legal basis of the organization's activities, other constituent documents;

* to familiarize students with the activities of the organization in the field of Turkology, philology of the Turkish language and international cooperation;

* conduct a comparative analysis of the theoretical knowledge obtained at the university and the result of their practical application in the conditions of practical training;

* collect materials mainly related to the history, language, literature and folklore of the country under study; issues of the organization's cooperation with Turkey and other Eastern countries (for example, international agreements, foreign economic transactions and treaties).

            The purpose of the practical training is to complete the formation of the basic professional skills of the future specialist of the Turkologist/philologist of the Turkish language, including information technology. The student must possess the skills of organizing the professional labor process, the skills of working in professional teams, the skills necessary for making organizational decisions in standard situations, as well as the skills of project activities, collecting and processing materials.

            Tasks of the production practice:

* study of the types of professional activities of Turkologists/philologists of the Turkish language, their functions and tasks;

* consolidation of theoretical knowledge and the formation of professional skills, skills and competencies on this basis;

* mastering innovative technologies, advanced labor and production methods;

* acquisition of organizational and professional experience;

* acquisition of teamwork skills, competencies of corporate management principles;

* mastering the skills to independently plan their activities, establish useful contacts with colleagues, determine the role of a professional position, form a sense of responsibility.

 

            The main goal of pre-graduate practice is to obtain theoretical and practical knowledge and results that contribute to the successful completion and defense of the thesis. Pre-graduate practice is the final stage of training a specialist in the field of Turkology and Turkish philology. It is based on the skills and abilities acquired during training and production practices. However, pre-graduate practice differs in that it has a research purpose and is devoted to the study of both theoretical and practical issues related to the topic of the thesis.

            Tasks of pre-graduate practice:

* formation of a conscious understanding of the role of research work in the preparation of the diploma project;

* development of the ability to rationally apply the obtained theoretical knowledge in the preparation of the thesis;

* collection, processing, and generalization of practical material on the topic of the thesis;

* gain practical skills in analyzing statistical data and practical material on the topic of the thesis research;

* formulation of conclusions, patterns, recommendations and suggestions on the topic of the thesis;

* preparation of the thesis in accordance with the established requirements.

 

            For EP "8D02212-Turkology", "7M02212-Turkology" and  "7M02304-Philology: Turkic languages" provides programs of pedagogical and research practices. Pedagogical and research practices of students are conducted at the department under the guidance of scientific supervisors. Also, for students, a scientific foreign internship is provided within the framework of contracts, agreements, memoranda with leading foreign universities.

One of the main part of the educational program is professional practice. The Department of Turkology has a unique opportunity for students to practice in such organizations as the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the International Turkic Academy, and the Turkish Cultural Center named after Yunus Emre, translation agency SHA and others under the cooperation agreements of these organizations with the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov.

 

The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the youngest and largest museum in Central Asia. The museum was created on July 2, 2013 as part of the implementation of the State program “Cultural Heritage” on behalf of the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev.

The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan has the following halls: the Hall of Astana, the Hall of Independent Kazakhstan, the Halls of Gold, the Hall of Ancient and Medieval History, the Hall of History, the Hall of Ethnography, and the Halls of Contemporary Art. The structure of the museum for the study of national property is represented by a research institute. There are also facilities for a children's museum, a center for children's creativity, two exhibition halls, restoration workshops, laboratories, professional stock vaults, a scientific library with a reading room, a conference hall, and souvenir kiosks.

The museum is equipped with equipment complying with international standards, modern exhibition technologies are used for exhibitions: a unique curved screen with special content that works for two rooms, a media floor, a dynamic layout of the central part of modern Astana, numerous media screens, holograms, LED-LED technology, touch kiosks, multimedia a guide with information in three languages.

Students of the Department of Turkology practice in the scientific and excursion departments of the museum, where they have the opportunity to put theoretical knowledge into practice. So, they get acquainted with the work of the museum as a whole, and the work of Turkic specialists, archaeologists, guides, etc .; with restoration technologies for ceramic products found in the excavations of the Botai settlement; study intangible cultures of Kazakhstan, China, Russia; during excursion work they master the communication skills of various types of communication. Students are given the opportunity, together with employees of the museum’s scientific department, to travel to field research in various regions of Kazakhstan and abroad.

International Turkic Academy.

On October 3, 2009, at the 9th summit of the heads of Turkic-speaking states in the city of Nakhichevan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev made a proposal to establish a scientific center to study the Turkic world. So, on May 25, 2010, the Turkic Academy was opened in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana, in the Palace of Peace and Concord. The opening ceremony was attended by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, as well as prominent Turkologist scientists from Kazakhstan, Turkey, the USA, Russia (Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Chuvashia, Yakutia), Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine.

On August 22-23, 2012, in the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek, at the II Summit of the Turkic Council, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Arthur Rasizade signed an agreement on the assignment of international status to the Turkic Academy. After the agreement was ratified by the founding countries, the Turkic Academy, which has been operating in Kazakhstan since 2010, received international status on August 27, 2014. Thus, the international scientific center “International Turkic Academy”, created jointly by four Turkic-speaking states, began its work.

The aim of the Turkic Academy is to coordinate and promote scientific research on the history of the Turkic world, from ancient centuries to the present, the study of the Turkic language and literature, culture, as well as the study of the common Turkic world based on the discovery of unique sources and identification of the role and place of Turkic states in the world space.

During the internship at the International Turkic Academy, students of the Department of Turkology get acquainted with the scientific activities of scientists, prints of ancient scripts, and their storage conditions. Trainees also engage in translation activities, correcting texts, work with the dictionaries “Codex Kumanikus”, “Divani Lugat at-Turk”, etc. Every year, students have the opportunity to participate in the International Forum “Uly Dala”. They gain enormous experience in organizing and conducting the forum, composing programs, collecting information on participants' presentations, communicating with foreign guests, compiling final reports, etc.
