March 3 at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Almaty) was held the 20th Kazakhstan competiton of oratory in the Japanese language. The student of the department of regional studies Shtumpf Alexander took 3rd place in the competition for oratory in the Japanese language.

Kishkimbaeva Malika, second-year student of regional studies under the academic mobility program, successfully completed a semester at Vilnius University (Lithuania)

On February 28, 2018, the teaching staff of the Department of the Regional Studies and undergraduates of the direction of the Eurasian Integration took part in the international conference "Kazakhstan-Russia: An Alliance Intent to the Future" organized by the Analytical Center of the Library of the First President of the RK-Elbasy, the Political Center "North-South" and the Russian- Kazakhstan expert IQ-Club.

Andrei Shenin, an associate professor of the Department of Regional Studies of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, was awarded among the top ten finalists of the contest "Best journalist on international affairs 2017" by the Russian international Affairs Council (RIAC), agency "Interfax", journals "International Life" and "Russia in global politics". His article "Bolivar cannot carry three?" that provides an analysis of the U.S. nuclear triad modernization gave a high rating among the best works in the nomination "The Best analytical Article on International Issues".
