April 14, 2017 the ENU hosted the XII International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Science and Education - 2017", which became a traditional annual event within the framework of the April 12 celebration of the Day of Kazakhstan Science


The work of the conference took place in several sections. The problems of Oriental studies were discussed at the subsection "Oriental Studies" of the section "International Relations". The commission consisted of the Acting Head Department of Oriental Studies Ph.D. A. Alibekuly (Chairman), Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor T.Z. Kaiyrken, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor S.A. Tuleubayeva, senior lecturer G.K. Uteuliyeva. To participate in the conference in the subsection "Oriental Studies", 31 reports were presented (4 young scientists, 20 students and 5 graduates from the Department of Oriental Studies, as well as 2 representatives of students from the near abroad). 18 people have publicly spoken. Subjects of the reports covered various aspects and problems of oriental studies and countries of the East. The discussion focused on the current problems in the specializations studied (Arab countries, South Korea, Japan, China). The speakers accompanied the presentations with bright presentations and confidently answered the questions. The jury noted the high level of preparation of the speakers.



According to the results of the subsection, the winners were determined: 1 place was awarded to Alina Bekshebaeva (class B-32), 3rd year student of the Japanese department, 2nd place - Rib Yevgenia (class B-42), 4th year student of the Japanese branch, and Gulnara Makambetova, 4 th year student of the Arabic department (Class B-42), 3rd place - 4th year student of the Korean branch of Tazhibay Dinara (class Sh-41) and - fourth-year student of the Japanese branch Turyszhan Gulshat (group B-42). Particularly was noted and the presentation of the graduate student of 1 course of the Chinese branch of Sairan.

This year the scientific achievements of the Department of Oriental Studies were awarded with the award at the plenary session of Dr. PhD, Professor An San Hoon, who was invited from the Republic of Korea by the diploma, as well as the undergraduate student of the 1st course of the Arab branch of the specialty 6M020900 - "Oriental Studies" O. Serik, who became the prize-winner of the Republican Science Competition Research work for 2016. Diploma and monetary compensation to Osman was given by the pro-rector ENU named after L.N. Gumilev on the academic work A.A. Moldazhanova.
