On April 4, 2017, within the framework of the university decade of science, a scientific seminar on the subject "Requirements for writing scientific papers" was held at the Department of Oriental Studies.

Speakers included the head of the department of Oriental studies Ph.D. A. Alіbekuly, Candidate of History  Z. S. Ilyasova, Master of Arts, Teacher O.T.Beisenbayev. The seminar was attended by students and faculty of Oriental Studies.

In their presentations, the speakers drew the attention of present students to the importance of having a terminological base conducted for the research , the need to observe the academic style in the presentation of the material, explained how to properly structure scientific work, work with scientific literature, compile a bibliography, etc. Z.S. Ilyasova, in particular, using illustrative examples, showed what important elements are missed by students when writing scientific works.

A. Alіbekuly in his speech shared the experience of the management of scientific works, pointed out the mistakes often made by students.

The seminar was held in an interactive format. The students had an opportunity to comprehend the fragments presented for analysis, to reveal the discrepancy to the requirements. The purpose of the event was to help students overcome difficulties in writing scientific works to a certain extent.
