Student Club Fair-2023

On September 11, 2023, Student Club Fair was successfully held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Foreign lecturer from Spain Michelle Garcia and Senior lecturer D.O. Saliyeva, the leaders and members of the Spanish language club and Student volunteer club took part on behalf of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of the International Relations Faculty.

            For several years, two Student clubs have been functioning at the FIR Department of Foreign Languages. Spanish language club at the Resource Center for Language and Culture named after Ruy Gonzalez de Clavijo of the Kingdom of Spain was set up in February 2018 at L.N. Gumilyov ENU.

            Club goals:

-       increasing student interest in the Spanish language;

-       acquaintance with additional information about history, culture, customs and traditions of Spain;

Objectives:

-       expand students’ communication skills in oral (speaking and listening comprehension) and written (reading and writing) forms of communication;

-       to form speech, language, sociocultural competence in students;

-       to create in students the need to improve their knowledge and independently work on the language;

-       develop students’ linguistic culture, familiarize them with the realities of the countries of the language being studied;

-       to cultivate respect for the way of life of the people of the country of the language being studied;

-       cultivate a sense of tolerance.       

          Student volunteer club under the leadership of D.O. Saliyeva functions at the FIR Department of Foreign Languages ​​since January 16, 2019. From the 2023-2024 academic year, the community was renamed as “Student Volunteer Club.”   

The club's activities are based on the following areas:

-       comprehensive development of human capital: professional, spiritual and personal;

-       preservation of national identity;

-       improving language and technological skills;

-       event management.

            The members of the volunteer club are progressive youth who deeply respect the traditional values ​​of their nation and considerably realize their potential.

            The participants of the fair expressed an interest in participating in events held within the clubs, and also actively signed up for club membership.
