On September 9, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Kazakhstan, Mr. Ufuk Ekiji, visited Eurasian National University.
The purpose of the visit was to congratulate the university on the new academic year and to present textbooks, dictionaries, scientific and fiction literature for the book fund of the Department of Turkology of the International Relations Faculty.
Board member-Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs E.A. Ongarbayev, on behalf of the university administration, expressed gratitude to Mr. Ufuk Ekedzhi and noted international cooperation with the Republic of Turkey in the field of education, science, advanced training and other areas. To this day, the university has signed contracts with more than 40 universities in Turkey. And also, there are two ENU centers in the Republic of Turkey. These are the Kazakh-Turkish Center at Niide Omer Halisdemir University and the Kazakh Laboratory of Education and Art at Akdeniz University. ENU, within the framework of a bilateral agreement, actively cooperates with higher educational institutions of Turkey on an annual grant from the Ministry of Turkey to attract foreign specialists on academic mobility programs for students and teaching staff in Mevlana and ORHUN, including the promotion of the Turkish language and culture.
In addition, the staff of the Department of Turkology closely cooperates with the international organization TURKSOY (International Organization for the Development of Turkic Culture and Art), the Turkish Cultural Center. Yunus Emre, International Turkic Academy. Moreover, the department publishes the research journal "Turkish Studies Journal", which is included in the list of recommended journals of the CCSc of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the editorial board of which includes well-known Turkologists from foreign universities, including Turkey. The faculty of the department has a visiting lecturer from Turkey, Professor of the University of On Doguz Mays, Mrs. Vildan Onjul, who conducts practical classes for students of the specialty "Foreign philology: Turkish language".
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Kazakhstan, Mr. Ufuk Ekiji, thanked the administration and staff of the University for the ongoing work on the development of mutual relations between the two countries.
