ENU Orientalists at the celebration of the National Day of Egypt

On July 20, 2022, the faculty and students of the Department of Oriental Studies participated in the celebration of the National Day of Egypt, which has been celebrated annually on July 23 since 1952, when the country's political system changed from a monarchical to a republican system, under the leadership of the "Free Officers" organization.

The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps of Kazakhstan, state bodies and various organizations. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Kazakhstan Ms. Manal Yahya ash-Shinnawi and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Adil Kapanuly Tursynov made a congratulatory speech and spoke about the historical aspects of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, and also noted the main stages of development of mutual cooperation. They paid special attention to the fact that today the development between the two countries has risen to a new qualitative level and shows mutual desire to activate and expand it.

Students of the 2nd-4th year of the Arabic Department of the Department of Oriental Studies performed the anthems of the two countries, demonstrated their mastery of the Arabic language, and acted as a future bridge of friendship between Kazakhstan and Egypt. Participation in such events allows them to get to know more deeply the features of their chosen profession, which is closely related to the diplomatic field.

During the event, the Ambassador expressed her great gratitude to the teaching staff of the Department of Oriental Studies, Professor S.A. Tuleubaeva's contribution to the development of fruitful cooperation with the Embassy was noted.
