“Regional Ethnology and Ethnography of ASEAN Countries”

On November 8-12, 2019 the dean of the International Relations Faculty, Professor Anna Esengalieva and senior lecturer of the Department of Oriental Studies, PhD Ainur Beisen took part in the international forum “Regional Ethnology and Ethnography of ASEAN Countries”, organized by Yun-Nan University.

 

 

This international forum was organized by the Research Institute of Transnational Ethnology, Yun-Nan University, China. Ethnological sciences are one of the main research areas of Yun-Nan University. The forum created new opportunities for scientific cooperation between scientists from China, Southeast Asia and Kazakhstan, and also became a unique platform for the development of bilateral academic exchange.

 

 

 

The two-day forum was attended by more than 20 scientists and researchers from more than 10 countries - Kazakhstan, Thailand, Nepal, the USA, Great Britain, Mongolia, Canada, Germany, Kingdom of Cambodia, scientists and students from more than 25 universities and research institutes took part from China, the total number reached more than 100 participants . The report was made by more than 70 scientists and researchers, more than 80 research papers were presented. Within the framework of the forum, scientists from different countries held a free discussion on strengthening scientific cooperation and promoting academic exchange.

 

Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov, Professor Anna Yesengaliyeva made a presentation in English. The topic of the report is “China and Kazakhstan: grandiose results, prospects for cooperation.” The report examines the state program of Kazakhstan “Nurly Zhol” and the Chinese initiative “One Belt and One Road”, as well as the relations of ASEAN countries, some aspects of their policy, economy, culture, science and educational system.

 

 

The report presents the history of the formation of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov. The senior lecturer of the Department of Oriental Studies of the Eurasian National University, PhD Beisen Ainur also made a scientific report on the topic "Ethnic Culture and Politics in a Tolerant Society of Kazakhstan."

 

During the forum and meetings with the leadership of Yun-nan University, the parties discussed the signing of a memorandum between universities and the prospects for the development of academic exchange.
