Regional students took first place at the Republican Olympiad

March 29 at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty was held the Annual Republican Student Olympiad devoted to the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and the problem of state formation in the XX-XXI centuries.
The competition included five stages: home preparation of the essay on the theme "Versailles-Washington system in the context of state formation", writing an essay on "Separatism in Europe and the prospects for the creation of new states", work with contour maps on the topic of the essay, Brain-ring "New state in Europe in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries "and holding debates within the framework of the British format.
The team of students of Russian groups of 1-3 courses of the department "Regional Studies" won first place, having received the best marks in almost every five stages. The team consisted of: Tahir Nigmanov (3rd course), Zhanar Skendirova (3rd course), Aziza Bektash (3rd course), Saltanat Al'mukhambetova (3rd course) and Alisher Tulemisov (1st course). The adviser of the group was the invited professor of the department "Regional Studies" Ph.D. Andrei Shenin: "The Olympics was a difficult test for us: in a short time it was necessary to prepare material on a fairly narrow topic, but thanks to high-quality training we were able to show a high result and protect ENU's honor," Tahir Nigmanov said.
Also, the third place was taken by a team of students1-3 courses of the Kazakh department of the department "Regional Studies". The bronze medalists of the Olympiad were: Zhanbolsyn Aytmakhanov, Madina Talimagambetova, Bibigul Zhumagulova, Meruert Sadubekova and Bauyrzhan  Auken.
The head of the delegation is professor of the chair of regional studies Kurmangali Darkenov.
