Rector and first Vice-rector of ENU met with the Director of the Center for Central Eurasian studies of Mumbai University

Rector Yerlan Sydykov and first Vice-rector (Vice-rector for academic works) Moldazhanova Assemgul had a meeting with Professor Sanjay Deshpande, Director, Centre for Central Eurasian Studies, University of Mumbai, Mumbai, regarding collaboration between the two best universities in the respective countries. Akbota Zholdasbekova, Dean, Faculty of International Relations, Seyit Ali Avcu, Director of Internationalization and Image Department and Dr. Punit Gaur, Associate Faculty at Eurasian National University were also presented at the meeting. Rector Yerlan Sydykov explained how L.N.Gumilyov ENU became one of the best university not only in this region but also in the world ranking especially within a very short span of time. First Vice-rector Moldazhanova Assemgul also discussed about the vision of the university and possibilities of the further cooperation and collaborations between the two universities. She also proposed to open Kazakh-India education and cultural Centre at University of Mumbai, India. Professor Sanjay Deshpande also acknowledge her idea to expand the cooperation framework not only between the two universities but also stressed that it is the need of the hour between the two fastest growing countries in the world. He also explained about the status of the University of Mumbai and its affiliated colleges which has nearly about 0.8 million students. In this respect both the universities have potentials to work together in the academic sphere. 

During his visit Professor Sanjay Deshpande also visited the dean of the Faculty of International relations Akbota zholdasbekova and the Chair of Regional Studies Aigerim Ospanova for further collaboration on the department level especially with the reference of greater Eurasia concept. Faculty of International Relations also planning to have roundtable discussion and lectures for the students and scholars with professor Sanjay Deshpande during his Visit to Eurasian National University.

Professor Sanjay Deshpande also planning to visit more departments in the Faculty of International Relations during his visit. He told that so far he is really impressed to meet the students and the faculties of the university and of course with the high academic standard and the ranking of the university. He also greatly appreciates for the Invitation and warm hospitality shown to him during his visit to Eurasian National University. He is also looking forward to have further collaboration between the two universities.
