In February 2022, in Ankara and Istanbul (Turkey), TURKSOY, together with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkey, the Consulate in Istanbul and the Turkish Language Department, held an international conference dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Akhmet Baitursynov.
At the meeting, which was attended by scientists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey, Professor of the Department of Turkic Studies, Doctor of Philology Amantay Zharylkasynuly Sharip made a report «Akhmet Baitursynov and the Turkic world» and was awarded the medal of the Hungarian Turkologist Gyula Nemet.
Within the framework of the event, the presentation of the book of the famous researcher Serikbay Ospanuly «Teacher of the Nation» and an excerpt from the TV series «Ahmet. Teacher of the Nation».
The conference participants paid special attention to the importance of continuing to study the legacy of the Alash leader Akhmet Baitursynov in the context of the development of the entire Turkic world.
