Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Sinologist, writer, laureate of the orders "Kurmet", "Kultegin" Kairken Tursynkhan Zakenuly was awarded the International Prize "Alash" for the historical novel "Attila".
The Alash International Prize is a literary prize established by the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan as a monument to the writers who were the first to raise the national flag of Kazakhstan. The Alash Prize is awarded every two years to the best new work published since 1992.
The university staff congratulates Tursynkhan Zakenuly on the award and wishes him health and success. We hope that this award will contribute to a new search and creativity of Kazakhstani writers.
