On December 12, 2022, Acting Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies of the Faculty of International Relations, historian K. M. Ilyasova took part in the READx event "One Book I read", organized within the framework of the project "School eager to read" and shared the book she read "The Alash movement". The author of the 2-volume book recommended for reading is a well-known scientist, academician M. Koigeldiev. Edited and expanded editions released in 2017. The first book, consisting of 480 pages, talks about the anti–colonial struggle of political figures of the early twentieth century led by A. Bukeikhan, A. Baitursynov, M. Dulatov, about their activities on the way to the creation of an independent state - the Alash autonomy. The second book, consisting of 656 pages, tells about the fate of the Alash intelligentsia in the second period of the struggle for independence (1917-1932). The 2-volume book is intended for the general public interested in our history. The event was held at the gymnasium No. 90 named after K.Mukhamedkhanov in Astana.
