Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies S.A. Tuleubayeva - within the framework of cooperation with research partner centers of ENU - November 30, 2021, at the invitation of the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue, took part online in the round table "30 years of Independence of Kazakhstan and the historical role of Nursultan Nazarbayev in the formation of a modern state ", timed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Independence and the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a report in Arabic on the topic" Cooperation between the two countries in the academic field (on the example of L.N. Gumilyov ENU) ". The organizers of the event are the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the KSA, the Center (Fund) for Information and Arab-Russian Studies (KSA) and the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue.
The meeting was moderated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Berik Aryn, who has been heading our diplomatic mission in the country of "Two Holy Places" since March 2019. From the Kazakh side, the Chairman of the Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue B. Sarsenbayev, Deputy Director of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy T. Shaimergenov and Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU named after S. al-Farabi Y. Paltore. From the Saudi side - the Director of the Center (Fund) for Information and Arab-Russian Studies D. Majid at-Turki, employees of the Center for Research and Educational Communication, the former Ambassador of the KSA to the Republic of Kazakhstan, D. Zahir al-Inazi, who visited ENU several times, and others.
At the beginning of the event, a presentation of the book “Kazakhstan. 30 Years of Independence” in Arabic, and a video is shown about the main achievements of our country.
ENU maintains relations with the Saudi side in order to develop international cooperation. Director of the Center (Fund) for Information and Arab-Russian Studies (KSA) d. Majid at-Turki since 2008 is an honorary professor and a frequent guest of our university. It was here that the presentation of the translation into Russian of his book about the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev “The Light of Power in Kazakhstan. President Nursultan Nazarbayev". He repeatedly delivered lectures to the teaching staff and students, coordinated the holding of round tables with the participation of Saudi scientists. In November 2017, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between ENU and the center headed by it.
In May 2017, E.V. Prince of Turki al-Faisal Al Saud on an official visit, during which he was awarded the title of honorary professor, as well as a presentation of translations of the book "Al-Faisal: Witness and Martyr" dedicated to the life and work of his late father, E.V. King of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Abdelaziz Al Saud, into Kazakh and Russian languages (the latter was carried out by Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies S.A. Tuleubaeva)
In addition, the guests of the university were the adviser for international cooperation of the Ministry of Higher Education of the KSA, Mr. Isa bin Abdullah al-Isa (January 2009), the rector of the Islamic University (Medina), D. Muhammad bin Ali al-Ukla (September 2009), Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the KSA, Mr. Abu Bakr Baghadir (June 2010) and others.
Cooperation with the KSA Embassy in Kazakhstan is also developing. The heads of the Kingdom's diplomatic missions take an active part in various events organized at the university, deliver lectures. The Embassy of the Servant of the Two Shrines rendered great assistance in the opening of the Arabic studies cabinet on the basis of the Department of Oriental Studies of the Faculty of International Relations in June 2015.
Head Department of Oriental Studies A. Alibekuly and Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies S.A. Tuleubayeva represented the university at the first conference "Asian Arabic Studies", which was organized in Riyadh (KSA) by the Center for Research and Educational Communication in April 2019.
ENU takes an active part in the events initiated by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Saudi Arabia. Thus, Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies S.A. Tuleubayeva took part in an international online conference on July 1, 2020 with a report on the topic “The role of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev in strengthening relations with the Arab and Islamic world "(co-organizers - Center for Information and Arab-Russian Studies, N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue). On November 22, 2020, she made a virtual presentation in Arabic on the life and work of Abai at a conference organized by our diplomatic mission together with the Center for Research and Educational Communication of the KSA.
