Priority areas for improving the quality of training in the system of higher and postgraduate education

On January 28, 2020, the next meeting of the Turkology section (PMG) took place in the field of human resources training in the humanities system in the higher and postgraduate education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The head of the section of the specialty “Turkology” is the head of the Department of Turkology, Professor M. Zholdasbekov.

           At the next meeting, the following issues were on the agenda:

           1. The problem of training disciplines of choice in the educational program "Turkology";

           2. The problem of Turkic languages at the junction of civilizations;

           Discussion of the projects of the PMG in the field of personnel training "Humanities" Turkology ".

       Miscellaneous:

           1. The issue of improving the test specifications of majors in the specialty "7M02212 – Turkology" for comprehensive testing in 2020;

          2. Organization of the examination of textbooks and teaching aids received by the PMG for the assignment of the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the areas of training "Humanities (Turkology)"

       On the first question, an assistant professor of the Kazakh language and literature named after Academician S. Kirabaev, KazNPU named after Abay,  G.M. Raeva spoke on the problems of selecting elective disciplines for educational programs of "Turkology"; ensuring the continuity of theoretical consistency between educational programs at three levels (bachelor's, master's, doctoral); Analyzed the issues of possible identification of the university's educational program that implements the educational programs of "Turkology". On this issue, Professor of the Department of Turkology of L.N. Gumilyov ENU S.M. Syzdykov expressed his opinion on ensuring balance in the credit volume of disciplines relating to Turkic languages, Turkic literature, Turkic history, Turkic culture as part of elective disciplines.

            On the second question, professor of the Kazakh language and literature department named after academician S. Kirabaev, KazNPU named after Abay, G.S. Kosymova, the place of Turkic linguistics in the training of specialist Turkologists; in her speech, she spoke about the importance of studying Turkic languages ​​by future Turkologists; Actual problems of the study of Turkic languages ​​in the era of globalization; on the procedure for introducing into the EP “Turkology” disciplines related to Turkic languages. On this issue, members of the PMG expressed their opinion: professor of the Department of Turkology of L.N.Gumilyov ENU A.K. Kaiyrzhanov, researcher at the Military History Museum of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, c.ph.s., associate professor E.S. Abdukamalova.

            On the third issue, projects of the PMG in the field of personnel training "Turkology" Humanities "were discussed. Professor of the Department of Turkology, L.N. Gumilyov ENU, M.K. Eskeeva, acquainted with the goals and objectives of the projects: these are “Formation of a scientific and methodological center for training personnel in the Turkological direction” and “Turkology - the historical and scientific and methodological basis for the development of the idea of ​​ Мәңгілік Ел, implementation of the programРухани жаңғыруand requirements for project results. PMG members A. Kairzhanov, G. Kosymova, R. Turysbek, A. Sharip, S. Syzdykov and others expressed their opinion on the effectiveness of these projects.

 

                 Miscellaneous:

1)      for comprehensive testing in 2020, issues of improving the test specification of majors in the specialty 7M02212 – Turkology, members of the PMG R. Turysbek, M. Eskeeva were discussed. Members of the PMG A. Sharip, A. Kairzhanov, S. Syzdykov, G. Kosymova expressed their opinion that it is necessary to make proposals to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the introduction of the subject “History of Turkic Peoples” instead of the subject “Turkic Folklore”, where test tasks for admission of undergraduates will be developed.

 

2)      discussion of the textbook of the candidate of philological sciences, associate professor E.Zh. Omirbaev “Lexical-semantic and word-formation features of written monuments of the era of the Kazakh Khanate” (XV-XVII centuries) (-Turkestan: Ahmet Yesevi University, 2017. - 163 pp.). On this issue, a member of the PMG, M. Eskeeva said that the textbook was tested for three years, used in the educational process, fully meets the requirements of the educational literature used in the direction of training "Turkology", there are necessary documents. G. Kosymova spoke about the act the textbook at the present stage, noting the lack of textbooks for the language of written monuments of the period of the Kazakh Khanate.

 

            Member of the PMG, head of the Scientific Institute " Халық қазынасы" at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, c.h.s., A.Onggar shared his opinion on the training of specialists in Turkologists on the inclusion of disciplines in the study of program: Turkic numismatics, archaeology, etc., and on the examination of textbooks.

As a result of the meeting, resolutions were adopted on agenda items. The work was fruitful and intense.
