Visit to the National Museum of Kazakhstan

April 13, 2019, under the state program “Ruhani  zangyru”,the lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​organized and conducted an excursion to the National Museum of Kazakhstan for the students of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Among the visitors was Professor Michael Näder, an independent expert from Germany.

In the lobby of the museum, a golden eagle, soaring under the ceiling,immediately attracted the attention of the visitors. It symbolizes freedom and courage, and expresses the aspiration of the young sovereign state to the heights of the global civilization.

    The museum has more than 10 thematic halls, which contain archaeological, ethnographic, historical and cultural monuments of Kazakhstan, ranging from the ancient times to the present. The tour was conducted in English; the guide presented the exhibits very interestingly and informatively.

       The group visited two Gold halls, where the history of gold mining in Kazakhstan and its products, as well as the reconstructed model of the Golden Man, were presented. In the hall of ethnography, they were introduced with the life and culture of the Kazakh people: the yurt with its full decoration, national clothes, carpets and decorations. In addition to these halls, the group visited the halls of contemporary art, and the photo exhibition of the French artist Eric Vazzoler “Radiant Youth of Sarzhal”, the main characters of which were children living in the territory of the former Semipalatinsk test site in the village of Sarzhal.

      At the end of the tour, the visitors watched the show “Dynamic layout of the central part of the modern capital”. The audience stared in amazement how the city began to grow from cubes in chronological order of the sights and residential areas construction of the city under the music.

      The visitors liked the excursion. Theyfound new and interesting information. Professor Näderthanked the organizers for the excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the history and culture of Kazakh people, and expressed hope to continue his acquaintance by visiting the EXPO Museum.
