Online meeting with master students for admission to the EP PhD studies «8D03102 - International Relations»

January 27, 2022  the Department of International Relations of the L.N. Gumilyov held an informational and explanatory online meeting with second-year undergraduates of the EP «7M03107 - International Relations» for admission to the EP PhD program «International Relations».

The online meeting was aimed at attracting master students to further education, explaining the basic requirements for admission and opportunities during the studying period. The moderator of the event was the candidate of historical sciences Erniyazov D.K., advisor of the Department of International Relations at the level of master's and doctoral studies.

The event began with an introductory speech by the head of the Department of International Relations Akhmedyanova D.K., who highlighted the key points, typical problems that applicants face during admission, and also gave recommendations for preparing for admission to the PhD program «International Relations». At the same time, she focused on accessing the corresponding tab of the University's website and in the Call-center during the admission campaign.

Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations Kamaldzhanova T.A., who took part in the work of the admissions committee in 2019 as a technical secretary at the master's and doctoral levels, acquainted the master students with the changes in the regulatory legal acts that have occurred over the past three years, the rules of the Admissions Committee, the procedure submission of documents and the basic requirements for admission to doctoral studies.

Further, the doctoral student of the department Dauylbayev A.B., who previously worked in the admission committee of 2020, spoke about the details of the procedure for submitting documents, his personal experience of entering doctoral studies and shared useful tips with undergraduates, including how to prepare for the entrance exam.

The speakers focused on the mandatory presence of a certificate confirming the knowledge of a foreign language, a medical certificate in the form 075 / u, a list of scientific and scientific-methodical works. They also drew attention to the fact that people with a master's degree and work experience of at least nine months are accepted for doctoral studies.

Thanks to the introductory online meeting, undergraduates received complete information regarding admission to the PhD program «International Relations». At the end of the event, master students were able to ask their questions.
