Kazakhstan-Hungary higher education institutions discuss scientific cooperation

On February 11, 2021, His Excellency, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Kazakhstan Mihai Matyash Galoshfai met Yerlan Sydykov, the rector of L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

Among the participants of the meeting were Vice-rector for strategic development D.R. Aitmagambetov, the director of the International Cooperation Department A.V. Karmelyuk and the dean of the International Relations Faculty M.M. Kossybayev. The parties discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of education and science and the prospects for implementing joint projects in several areas. The issue of teaching the Hungarian language at the Faculty of International Relations was also discussed.

Currently, the memorandum has been signed between the ENU and the University of Szeged (Szeged), Szent István University (Gödöllő) and the University of Central Europe (Budapest) aimed at the development of cooperation in education and science. The fruitful cooperation in the field of education and science has also been established with these Hungarian universities and the ENU Faculty of International Relations.

The students of International Relations Faculty exchange knowledge at the universities of Hungary under the academic mobility programmes. In December 2019, 5 Master’s students of the Department of Turkic Studies passed the internship at the Department of Altai Studies at the University of Szeged, and in 2020, 1 PhD candidate completed his research internship at this university.

We hope that we will further expand the geographical scope of education, increase the number of high-profile international research projects and establish sustainable cooperation between the universities of our countries to attract foreign experts.
