On April 4 of this year, a scientific seminar was held on the introduction of an analytical review of scientific sources on interethnic issues, prepared for release as part of a scientific project, as well as a discussion of the mechanisms of a sociological survey (expert, focus groups) with the participation of experts and ethno-cultural associations of the Southern region.
Organized by the Department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan within the framework of the Decade of Science of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, the seminar gathered undergraduate students of the Department, representatives of ethno-cultural associations of the Southern region, as well as leaders of KGU «Kogamdyk kelisim» of all Southern regions, including the cities of Almaty and Shymkent.
The head of the Department of the APK Kalashnikova N.P. made a welcoming speech, telling about the goals, objectives of the project, research methods and work plans in the regional dimension.
Professor of the Department Sabitov Zh.M. in his speech noted the importance of continuing the research in the future from the point of view of assessing the dynamics of ethnopolitical processes not only in the Southern region, but also in the country as a whole.
The project manager of the Eurasian center for people management, candidate of science Zhusupova A.S., dwelled in more detail on the methodology and specificity of sociological research. Thus, practitioners from the regions will be directly involved in the expert surveys. There will be a guide for the moderators of the research, including the method of randomness, coaching, field control, etc.
At the end of the seminar, an analytical review of scientific sources on the studied issues in the field of interethnic relations was presented, within the framework of which 7 main stages of nation-building over the years of independence and levels of modernization were identified.
