Scientific online-seminar on the topic “Turkic writing – a world value”

The Department of Turkology of the Faculty of International Relations of the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University is organizing an online seminar on the topic «Turkic writing – a world value», dedicated to May 18 – the Day of Turkic writing, which is annually celebrated in our country. The scientific seminar was held under the auspices of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 25th anniversary of the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

The dean of the Faculty of International Relations, PhD, Associate Professor M.M. Kosybayev acted as a moderator of the seminar, who noted that the holiday of Turkic writing has been celebrated in the country since 2014 by the decision of the Parliament and the Government.

Myrzatay Zholdasbekov, a prominent state and public figure, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Head of the Department of Turkology of the Faculty of International Relations, made a welcoming speech and congratulated the guests and participants of the scientific seminar on the Day of Turkic Written Language.

Speaking about the monuments of the ancient Turkic period, the scientist spoke about the installation of the blue stone of Kultegin at the university, the study of runic monuments by domestic and foreign scientists. The floor was given to Dikhan Kamzabekovich, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development of the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

He noted that Turkology is presented only in the context of language and literature, stressed the need for a new approach to science, and emphasized the need to work to improve the level of communication in the field of Turkology in various fields. On behalf of the head of the university E.B. Sydykov, he thanked all the young scientists and wished them success in the work of the faculty.

Navoi , Head of the Department of Research and Training of Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel Nodirbek Zhurakuziev (Uzbekistan), Associate Professor of the Kyrgyz-Turkish University Manas, Researcher of the Department of Turkology, Faculty of Humanities, PhD Negizbek Shabdanaliev (Kyrgyzstan), Associate Professor of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, faculty International Relations, Department of Turkology, PhD Talgat Moldabay (Kazakhstan).

The scientist of the Turkish Republic Mehmet Olmez, speaking on the topic “Eski Türkçeden Kazakçaya ses ve söz değişmeleri” in the Kazakh language, focused on the expression of words and numbers in other Turkic languages, including the vocabulary of the Old Turkic language, emphasizing phonetic and other features.

Nurdin Useev, a young scientist from the Kyrgyz Republic, spoke on the topic "Baiyrki turk zhazuusunun turkcho menen bolgon bailanyshy." He noted that the culture of writing is an invaluable achievement of human spirituality. He noted that the ancient Turkic writing was an autochthonous invention of the Turks. The report of the young scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nodirbek Zhurakuziev "Kultegin bitiktoshida qadimgi turklardan olam manzarasi" was devoted to the worldview of the ancient Turks in the work of Kultegin and the study of the perception of the universe by the Turks in the horizontal and vertical directions of cosmogonic aspects. Negizbek Shabdanaliev, a young scientist from the Kyrgyz Republic, spoke on the topic “Yenisei zhazma estelikterinde dialectilik ozgocholuktor”, described the dialect classification of the ancient Turkic language, and explained that dialectal features are reflected in phonetic, lexical and grammatical deviations.

Associate professor of Turkology, PhD Talgat Moldabay presented a report "The semantic nature of the ancient Turkic alphabet", revealed the semantic field of ancient Turkic symbols, was able, based on research, to reveal the semantic internal motivation of ligature symbols.

Thus, scientists talked about the history of writing ancient Turkic monuments on various topics, and the participants were able to get detailed answers to their questions. At the end of the seminar, the dean of the faculty M.M. Kosybaev thanked all the participating scientists, once again congratulated them on the Day of Turkic Written Language, highly appreciated the level of friendship between the countries and wished them success in their work.
