She noted the fact that the use of elements of public speaking in English classes is very relevant, since public and business communication has actively entered the daily life of a person. We make speeches at conferences, attend meetings, communicate via voice messengers and read congratulatory speeches. This process has become very active, and it is important for a successful person to work on the way of presenting his /her speech.
Zhanna Kulakhmetova introduced the webinar participants the practical techniques and methods that help students master the initial skills of public speaking, further develop them and then successfully use them in their future profession. The teacher shared her experience of applying these methods in the classroom, introduced the forms of criteria for evaluating students' performances and noted that they can significantly increase the time of speech practice for each student, teach them to classify, evaluate, critically analyze information, as well as select it and present it in a concise manner.
She also emphasized that the use of public speaking techniques in the educational process gives the teacher a chance to generalize and bring into the system those methods, techniques and technologies that, through the activity approach, allow him to achieve positive educational results.
After the webinar, a discussion took place, during which its participants noted the effectiveness and expediency of using the techniques and methods of public speaking in foreign language classes.
