The Department of Oriental Studies held a scientific webinar «Conformity of classical Arabic literature with Kazakh literature»

On May 22, the Department of Oriental Studies of the Faculty of International Relations conducted a scientific webinar of  Ph.D.in Philology Kurmangali Gulnar Kanatkyzy on the topic called «Conformity of classical Arabic literature with Kazakh literature».

          This webinar was attended by the teaching staff and students of the Department, as well as the professors of other departments.

          At the beginning of the webinar, Gulnara Kanatkyzy reviewed the history of Arabic literature. Classical Arabic literature, Arabic literature of the XV-XVIII centuries, modern Arabic literature, modern Arabic literature introduced the history of the development of Arabic literature in four stages. She also focused on the works of the Omeyad Palace, such as al-Akhtal, al-Farabi, and Jarir,analyzed the genre characteristics and compositional structure of these works. Excerpts were provided from the translated version of the works.

       During the webinar, the speaker noted that the main source of spiritual closeness of Kazakh and Arabic literature is Islam. She spoke about the influence of religious groups on Kazakh oral literature, the connection of the works of Kazakh poets with Arabic literature.

At the end of the webinar, issues of changing Arabic pre-Islamic and post-Islamic literature, features of translating literary works in Arabic and adapting to Kazakh literature were discussed. Participants of the webinar asked questions to Gulnara Kanatkyzy and expressed their suggestions for further study of this topic.
