"The Fourth Tyuryakulov Readings" International Scientific and Practical сonference took place online

Department of International Relations, IR Faculty of L.N.Gumilyov ENU, continuing the tradition of holding an international conference established in 2013 and realizing the importance of promoting Nazir Tyuryakulov’s legacy, held an online international scientific and practical conference of the Fourth Tyuryakulov’s Readings on May 29, 2021.

The goals of the conference were a more in-depth study of the legacy of Nazir Tyuryakulov as a diplomat, statesman and public figure, an orientalist, as well as discussion of topical issues of the development of diplomacy, international relations and foreign policy of modern Kazakhstan.

Welcoming speech was made by Dikhan Kamzabekuly, the Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development of L.N.Gumilyov ENU, Miras Makhmedunovich Kossybaev, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations. In the plenary session, Doctor of Economics, Professor Sailau Batyrshauly and Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor Alpeissov Amirzhan Kairovich made their reports.

Foreign professors also took part - Doctor PhD Antonio Alonso Marcos from the University of San Pablo (Spain), Ajay Patnaik from Jawaharlal Nehru University (India), Kamen Velichkov, senior curator of programs and adviser on diplomatic affairs of the ISTC.

During the conference, three sections worked:

1. Diplomatic activities of Nazir Tyuryakulov and foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan (moderated by Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor G.M. Kakenova);

2. The role of diplomacy in foreign policy (moderated by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor A.M. Yesdauletova);

3. Actual problems of international relations in the XXI century (moderated by Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Medeubaeva Zh.M.).

The working languages of the conference were Kazakh, Russian, English. Lecturers, doctoral students, master students and students presented their reports and took an active part in the work of the sections.
