Kazan is the historical and cultural center of the Turkic world

From 21 to 24 November 2019, the Institute of Philology and intercultural communication of  Kazan Federal University organized an annual international scientific and practical conference on "Preservation and development of native languages in a multinational state: problems and prospects".

The peculiarity of this year's conference is that it was dedicated to the 215th anniversary of the Kazan University, which was founded by the famous mathematician A.N. Lobachevsky.

Kazan University is a unique University, where outstanding scientists worked A. M. Butlerov, A. N. Lobachevsky; Kazan linguistic circle, founded by Baudouin de Courtenay, functioned, L.N. Tolstoy, V.I. Lenin and many other famous personalities were students.

Kazan University historically and currently is one of the major centers of Turkic science, at the origins of which was N.F. Katanov himself. The University was a hotbed of knowledge and education for all Turkic peoples, including the Kazakh people, as evidenced by the unique library of the University, 6 000 000 million books, manuscripts, narrative sources of the early and late middle ages, modern times, originals written in various Turkic graphics, Persian, Arabic script. There are many Slavic Chronicles and Western sources.

The Institute of Philology and intercultural communication headed by the Director R.R. Zamaletdinov managed to organize an interesting conference, on the platforms of which there were interesting discussions and scientists made reports from India, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Russian Federation, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, southern Siberia, Moscow, St. Petersburg and the whole Volga region.

Despite the fact that several reports from Kazakhstan were announced in the conference program, the doctor of  Philology, Professor of the Department of  Turkology of  L. Gumilyov ENU presented Kazakhstan. Among students who spoke at the Plenary session of the conference with the report "Research of modern Kazakh Turkic studies". The report of the scientist aroused great interest among the audience, before the conference Nurila Gabbasovna, on the recommendation of the organizers of the forum, gave an interview to the TV companies "Tatarstan" and "New century", where she highlighted the development of the Kazakh-Tatar historical, cultural, scientific and educational ties and cooperation.

        In addition, the scientists of Turkey Mustafa Oner and from Azerbaijan Mahira Nagigizi Huseynova and N.G. Shaimerdenova held a round table with students and faculty of the University on the eve of the conference, where topical problems of modern education, Turkological science were discussed.
