The delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries TURKPA visited the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University. During the visit, the guests met with the leadership and scientists of the university, made a tour of the university.
Welcoming the delegates, ENU Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development Dikhan Kamzabekuly noted that the university is doing a lot of work and research in the field of Turkic studies. “We are conducting research in the field of philology, literature, history and so on. Our scientists believe that scientific work should cover not only humanitarian areas, but also natural and scientific ones,” the scientist added.
Dikhan Kamzabekuly voiced a number of proposals for the development of further cooperation, including the creation of a joint scientific journal in the field of Turkic studies, a general fund to support young scientists with the further awarding of nominal scholarships to them, as well as the appointment of a scientific award for scientists from Turkic countries.
In turn, the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries Mehmet Surey stressed the strategic importance of strengthening cooperation between the Turkic countries.
«Kazakhstan occupies a particularly important place for us. Since gaining independence, strong friendly relations have been developing between the countries. In this regard, we are always open to new areas of partnership, and we also support your proposals», - the guest noted. During the meeting, delegates of the two sides also made speeches and further questions on joint activities were discussed.
