Dialogue on languages and culture of the West and East, the problems of teaching languages and translation

Professor of the Department of Turkic Languages, Doctor of Philology, N. Shaimerdinova took part in the International Scientific Forum of Linguists "Language: didactics of teaching, didactics of translation", held in the oldest university in Poland, Warsaw University, which has over 200 years of history and 44 000 students from all over the world. The Forum was organized by the Institute of Linguistics of the University of Warsaw from March 17-18, 2018.

The work of the forum covered a wide range of issues: linguistic, semiotic, translational, linguo-didactic, cross-cultural and innovative technology in the teaching of the languages of the West and the East. The geography of the forum, represented by famous scientists from France, Austria, Germany, England, Greece, Kazakhstan, the Baltic countries, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland and other countries.

Professor N.G. Shaimerdinova spoke at the forum on the topic: "Inter-lingual Interference in Studying Kazakh (Turkic) and Russian Languages." Her report covered the language situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the role of Turkic languages in the formation of the country's language policy, the problems of inter-lingual interference in the development of Turkic and non-Turkic languages (English and Russian). The report aroused wide resonance among the listeners and many questions were asked to the speaker.

         In addition, Professor N.G. Shaimerdinova was the moderator of the section, spoke at the final Plenary session of the forum, representing the interests of  the L.N. Gumilyev ENU, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Turkic world. As a result of the conference, the forum participants received certificates in three languages (Polish, English and Russian).
