In June 2023, the Center for the Study of China, together with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Faculty of International Relations of the L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, held a seminar on "Regional dialogue in the format of Central Asia plus China" in order to strengthen strategic cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and China.

The speakers of the seminar were experts Director of the Center for Eurasian Studies of the Chinese Academy of International Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China; the Center for the Study of Chinese Culture KAON; professors of the Gumilev ENU, the Center for SCO Studies of Fudan University (Shanghai); political scientists, experts and researchers in the field of international relations, security and cooperation.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Miras Makhmedunovich Kosybaev

The Director of the Center for the Study of China, Ms. G.Shaimergenova, during her opening speech, explaining the new guidelines of the China-Central Asia summit held in Xi'an, noted that the China-Central Asia summit served as a new platform for cooperation and allowed opening a new era of relations."

Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies of the Faculty of International Relations T.Z.Kayyrken, in his speech revealed the geopolitical prerequisites of the format "Central Asia plus China"

, Director of the Center for Eurasian Studies of the Chinese Academy of International Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Li Ziguo, made a report on China's Strategy in Central Asia following the Summit. He highlighted a number of fundamental changes in relations between China and Central Asia. Mr. Li Ziguo also highlighted the main priorities of China's policy towards Central Asia in the future. 

The chief researcher of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after R.B. Suleimenov of the Committee of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, famous Kazakh orientalist E.U. Baydarov in his speech on the topic "Central Asia plus China in the context of the Global Civilization initiative" explained the results of the meeting in Xi'an within the framework of the China – Central Asia summit and said that this summit they really open up new opportunities for us to further expand comprehensive cooperation.

Associate Professor, Deputy Dean of the SCO Research Center of the Institute of International Studies of Fudan University, Shanghai, Ma Bing.

In his speech on the topic "China-Central Asia railway communication and its impact on regional development", Mr. Ma Bing spoke about the history of the formation of Chinese railways, development prospects, major players and development priorities.   

  A leading employee of the Department for the Study of Russia and Central Asian Countries of the KAON Center for the Study of Chinese Culture, a junior researcher at the KAON Institute of Philosophy Zu Chunming made a substantive report on the topic "The state, problems and trends of digital transformation in Chinese humanities and Social Sciences", in which she noted that the Xi'an Declaration pays special attention to strengthening and expansion of cooperation in high-tech.

Li Ruisi, Junior Researcher of the Central Asia Department, Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the KAON, spoke on the topic "The significance of the era of cooperation between China and Central Asia and the prospects of Sino-Kazakh cooperation" and considered the harmonious coexistence of civilizations and advocate the formation of an open, inclusive, equal and mutually beneficial atmosphere of civilizational exchanges, support all countries in independent pursuit of the path of democratic development."

At the end, an exchange of views took place among the participants of the seminar "Regional dialogue in the format of Central Asia plus China".
