In the 2018-2019 academic year, within the framework of research work, the students of the department participated in

On March 27-29, 2019, students of the department took part in the republican subject Olympiad in Turkology in Almaty on the basis of KazNU named after I. al-Farabi.

In April 2019, the students of the department took part in the final stage of the republican competition of scientific research work in Turkic studies in Nur-Sultan on the basis of the ENU named after V.I. L.N. Gumilyov.

In the 2019-2020 academic year, students of the Department of Turkology took an active part in:
1) Republican competition of scientific research work in Turkic studies (three prizes);
2) ХV International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists "YLYM JÁNE BILIM-2020" (three prizes);
3) Republican student subject Olympiad in the specialty "5B021200-Turkology" (four prizes).
In total, the students of the Department of Turkology took - 10 prizes in various scientific competitions, conferences and subject Olympiads in Turkology held in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On April 10-11, 2020, the XV International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists "YYLYM JÁNE BILIM-2020" was held in section No. 5 "International Relations"
Subsection No. 5.5 "The Turkic world: origins and modernity", which is assigned to the department of Turkic studies. There were 16 speakers (6 undergraduate students, 9 undergraduates, 1 doctoral student).

On April 12, 2021, the XVI International Scientific Conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU, in the subsection «The Turkic World: Origins and modernity», students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the Department of Turkology participated remotely in connection with the restrictive measures of the COVID 19 pandemic.
