4th year students of the Department of Oriental Studies Aisana Akhmetzhanova and Inara Mukhamediyeva, having passed a tough selection at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, were admitted as interns to the 6th CICA summit, which was held in the capital from October 13 to 14, 2022. They had the honor to accompany distinguished guests to provide assistance in technical and organizational matters.
Since the beginning of the academic year, students of this department have also been involved as volunteers in the work of the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. For future orientalists, this is a unique opportunity to put into practice the acquired knowledge and skills, communicate “live” with native speakers of the studied languages, representatives of the Eastern peoples, and get to know the specifics of the country's foreign policy and diplomatic activities.
As the students themselves share their impressions, such practice significantly expands their horizons, stimulates further in-depth mastering of the specialty and the study of foreign languages, both Eastern and Western.
The role of CICA is growing from year to year. Forum participants have repeatedly stated that the 21st century is truly the century of Asia, where economies and technologies are rapidly developing, and demographic growth is unabated.

At the current summit, Kuwait was accepted into the ranks of the organization, becoming its 28th full member, and Turkmenistan was included as an observer country. The presidency of Kazakhstan was extended for another 2 years (until 2024), which indicates the high trust placed in our country.
