On January 13, 2023, a scientific seminar on the topic "Methods of teaching Chinese History" was organized at the Faculty of International Relations of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, at which Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies, Doctor of Historical Sciences Kayyrken T. spoke. The professor shared his 20-year experience in teaching the subject "History of China" to students majoring in Oriental Studies.
The history of China is the main discipline for Sinologists majoring in Oriental Studies. This is the only basic discipline that comprehensively reveals the formation and development of China as a people and state as a whole, defines the foundations of statehood and nation, ethno-cultural identity, interethnic relations and political orientations, and major ambitions. The quality of the student's knowledge depends on the correct teaching of the subject. Currently, changing the level and requirements of students obliges them to invent various methods and techniques of teaching the discipline.
Therefore, the teacher focused on the importance of providing students in the educational process, first of all, with a complete textbook or textbook, an electronic multimedia textbook.
Secondly, to reduce the time of speech, interpretation of the traditional lecture and increase communication with students. In most cases, the emphasis is on the contemplation of the students themselves, improving their creative abilities. To do this, fully devote seminar classes to the creativity of students.
