On April 8, 2022, at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of International Relations, senior lecturer Yergalieva Kunsulu Ongarovna held a scientific and methodological seminar on the topic «Game technologies for teaching foreign languages» in an online format on the Teams platform.
The event began with the coverage of theoretical issues of the subject under consideration. The problems of stimulation and motivation to learn a foreign language using game learning technologies are presented in scientific research by such scientists as I.L. Bim, S.T.Zanko, S.S.Polat, E.I. Passov, V.M.Filatov and many others.
In the second part of the performance, Kunsulu Ongarovna offered phonetic, grammatical, lexical and speech online games to the audience, many of which were developed by the teacher himself on platforms learningApps.org, wordwall.net and AnswerGarden on the topics «Housing», «Family», «Food», «France» and «Professions».
Games were also demonstrated on the platforms logicieleducatif.fr, liveworksheets.com and others.
In addition, the speaker recommended the use of interesting games that can be played with students when teaching foreign languages offline.
The scientific and methodological seminar of the colleague was attended by the teaching staff of the department headed by its head, Ph.D. Meirambekova L.K. The seminar ended with a question-and-answer conversation.
