Joint conference on Integration of Cultures and Multiculturalism at the Faculty of International Relations

February 27, 2022 Faculty of International Relations of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, together with the ELGER Scientific and Educational Center at the Caucasus University (Kars, Turkey), Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and Nakhichevan University, held the XXIII international scientific symposium "Integration of cultures and multuculturalism" in an online format on the zoom platform, in which more than 50 representatives of the scientific and academic circles of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey took part. This is the second scientific event with the Caucasian University of Turkey: earlier, on September 25, 2021, the faculty co-organized the XVIII International Scientific Conference “The Past and Future of the Turkic World”.

The Vice-Rector of the Caucasus University, Doctor, Professor Enjin Kilic, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the L.N. Gumilyov, PhD M.M. Kosybaev, director of the Guba branch of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Dr. Yu. Aliyev and head of Department of Modern Turkic Languages ​​and Literatures of the Caucasus University, PhD I. Gyulyusoy. The coordinators of the symposium were Doctor PhD, Associate Professor of the Caucasus University, Director of the ELGER Center E.I. Gerayzade (from the Turkish side) and Doctor of Philology, Acting Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies of ENU S.A. Tuleubayeva (from the Kazakh side).

ENU was represented at the event by teachers of the Departments of Oriental Studies and Turkic Studies. Thus, Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies S.A. Tuleubayeva spoke at the sectional meeting with a report “The theme of the East in essays by Kazakh authors of the 19th-20th centuries.” In addition, the reports of M.M. Kosybaev and G.K. Kurmangali.

Cooperation between the Faculty of International Relations of ENU and the ELGER Center of the Caucasian University of Turkey has been progressively developing over the past few years. The parties get acquainted with each other's achievements in the field of Oriental studies and Turkic studies. It is planned to continue work on conducting joint research and activities within the framework of bilateral contacts between Kazakhstan and Turkey in the field of culture, science and education.
