THE WORK OF THE REGIONAL COMMISSION FOR THE FULL REHABILITATION OF VICTIMS OF POLITICAL REPRESSION

Within the framework of the State Commission for the Complete Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression, historians of the Faculty of International Relations, Professor of the Department of "Regional Studies" Darkenov K. G. and Professor of the Department of "Oriental Studies" Ilyasova K. M. were involved as leaders of the working groups, in accordance with their main duties, since the 1920s and 1950s. They systematically studied about 6 thousand cases, identified victims of repression, defined their new categories, and released new concepts in archival collections. According to the special archive of the Information and Analytical Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the Akmola region and the city of Akmola, the number of repressed in 1920-1950 was 6832, of them rehabilitated -6216, non-rehabilitated – 616, compared to the Akmola region, their number is 187 more people.

The above-mentioned group leaders took part in republican and regional cluster seminars and showed activity. They also published historical and educational articles and gave interviews in the republican and city press. This year, together with the head of the Research Department of the State Archive of Astana, archivist G.Isakhan, they compiled a collection of documents and materials "Akmola region - in archival documents (1920-1940)".
