From January 23, 2019, the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of International Relations began to conduct a monthly cycle of methodological seminars.
The target audience of these seminars are the faculty members of ENU and colleagues from other educational institutions of Astana.
The theme of the first seminar "Going Digital" speaks for itself: the use of digital technologies in the educational process. Associate Professor Nurtayeva Zhanat Zholdybayevna shared various techniques of learning foreign languages. In particular, the use of the Google Map application makes it possible to study various grammatical constructions, prepositions, coordination of tenses, and other in an exciting game manner. Students master the new material through the development of their cognitive abilities by applying their knowledge of geography in studying world maps, getting familiar with cities and their sights.
The second part of the seminar was focused on exercises that allow students to practice their pronunciation skills. Practical exercises for students' language competences in the field of phonetics and the ability to read transcription characters correctly were also offered.
The presentation found a lively response among the colleagues of the department.
