TEACHERS OF THE FOREIGN LANGUAGES DEPARTMENT HELD AN ONLINE ROUNDTABLE ON THE TOPIC “CORRUPTION MUST BE ERADICATED!”

  The anti-corruption policy of Kazakhstan "On measures to strengthen the fight against organized forms of crime and corruption" began with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on March 17, 1992. In July 1998, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Combating Corruption” was adopted, which was one of the first legislative acts.  Currently, an anti-corruption events is being conducted around the world. Higher educational institutions also try to make their contribution to the common cause of the country.

       On March14, 2022 (at 15:00)at the Faculty of International Relations of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National Universityas part of anti-corruption measures, the online roundtable was held on the topic "Corruption must be eradicated!" in order to form an anti-corruption worldview among students. According to the educational plan of the Foreign Languages Department, this event was organized and conducted by A. Kadykyzy, the senior lecturer of Foreign Languages ​ Department of the Faculty of International Relations. The roundtable was attended by teachers ( A.M. Yesengalieva, K.O. Ergalieva and A.K.Mutali) from Foreign Languages Department, first-year students of the Faculty of Social Sciences (17 students from groups Philosophy-11, Pedagogy and self-knowledge-11) and freshmen from the Faculty of International Relations (9 students from groups of Regional Studies-11/12, Oriental Studies-11/12).

 

       The moderator of the roundtable was A. Kadyskyzy, who presented the slides prepared by students entitled "Corruption must be eradicated" and focused on the objectives of the event.  Ziyatbek Akbota, Bekmukhanova Asem and Anuar Gulnur (Philosophy-11, Pedagogy and self-knowledge-11) prepared an interactive material and questions on the topic under discussion. Hasanova Amina and Ismagambetova Aikunum (Regional Studies-11/12, Oriental Studies-11/12) talked about the main problems of corruption in Kazakhstan and shared their thoughts. The students also shared their thoughts on the types of corruption, the main causes, the experience of foreign countries in the fight against corruption, as well as how to prevent it.

In the end, the senior lecturer K. О. Ergaliyeva, as the person in charge of anti-corruption at the Faculty of International Relations, informed about the large-scale events held within the university and the faculty. The educational event ended with a free discussion with the participation of all students and teachers. This event, organized by the Foreign Languages Department of the Faculty of International Relations, is held in order to form a general and professional culture of students, to increase their spiritual needs.
