Online educational event on the topic: "Problems of corruption in society" was held at the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of International Relations of L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University at 14:00 on October 29, 2020.
The economic modernization and social transformations in Kazakhstan have demonstrated the need for a comprehensive strategy closely related to the state's social and economic policy to combat corruption. In this regard, a new anti-corruption strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2025 was approved on December 26, 2014, and the law “On anti-corruption activities” was adopted on November 18, 2015.
The purpose of the Strategy is to increase the effectiveness of the state's anti-corruption policy and involve the whole society by creating an atmosphere of “zero tolerance” for any manifestations of corruption, as well as reducing the level of corruption in Kazakhstan.
The online educational event was attended by lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages. According to the plan of the educational work of the department, this event was organized by the lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages A. Kadyskyzy and A.K. Mutali. 29 participants attended the online educational event from two groups, students of oriental studies, pedagogy and psychology specialties (Sh-11 and PiP-11) and it was conducted in English and Kazakh.
The following topics were discussed during the educational event:
Types of corruption;
Foreign experience in combating corruption;
Widespread areas of corruption;
Corruption statistics;
Interesting facts on corruption.
The students shared their opinions, discussed and demonstrated their awareness of the above-mentioned problems. And they prepared quizzes, puzzles, videos, presentations.
The event was held in the group PiP-11 by Ashirbai Mereilim, students: Aliyar Togzhan, Daniyarova Zarina, Zholdybai Ayana, Tleulesova Zhania, Tugelbaeva Aktolkyn, etc. shared their thoughts actively.
Students from the group Sh-11 took an active part in the open educational event. Kanatova Samal held this event. Tauekelova Zhuldyzai, Mukhamedgalieva Aidana, Kudaibergenova Azhar and Ospan Aknur spoke about the fight against corruption, Zulfaidar Mukhammed gave a presentation in English.
At the end of the event, senior lecturer of the department Kulakhmetova Zh.T. thanked the students for their active participation and expressed her opinion on the importance of holding such events and the formation of "zero" tolerance to any manifestations of corruption.
