Students of the Faculty of International Relations enriched their knowledge through traditional lectures

On November 3, 2022, an open lecture was held by the professor of the Department of Turkic Studies of the Faculty of International Relations, professor Kairzhanov Abay Kairzhanovich on the topic "Some issues of source studies related to the era of the creation of the empire of Genghis Khan: the formation of the political term "Mongol" and the conquest of Northern China."

At the lecture, the role of source studies in science was noted, the history of the origin of the ethnonym "Mongol" was described on the basis of materials from written monuments. And also references were made to the works of scientists Rashid ad Din, V.Rubruk, D.P.Carpini, M.Polo, A.Vamberi, F.V.Balloda, N.N.Kradin, and others. Further, historical information was given about the army of Genghis Khan, his tactics-doctrine, used in the conquest of Northern China. At the end of the lecture, students asked their questions, and received scientifically substantiated answers to them.
