On April 25, 2023, the Department of Oriental Studies of the Faculty of International Relations of the L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University held an International scientific and Practical conference "The Countries of the East in the context of modern international relations: problems and new research requirements" in offline and online format.
The conference considered the theory and methodology of studying modern Eastern countries, regional problems of the Middle East, East Asia, South Asia and Central Asia. The conference participants made presentations on the history, culture, language and literature, economy and social situation of the Eastern countries.
At the plenary session of the conference, the Member of the Management Board-Vice-Rector for Strategic Development Aitmagambetov Duman Ramazanovich, made an introductory speech, who wished the conference participants success in their scientific work. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Kazakhstan Ali Akbar Jowkari, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea Yan Se-baek delivered a congratulatory speech. Also at the conference was the Director General of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after R.B.Suleimenov, Doctor of economic, Professor Duisen G, Director General of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after R.B.Suleimenov, Doctor of Philology, Professor. Advisor for Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Republic of Kazakhstan Ali Akbar Talebi Matin, Director of the Confucius Institute at the L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University, PhD in Philology Yang Lei.
Director of the Research Center for East Asia and the SCO at the Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO) Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Doctor of Historical Sciences A.V.Lukin, Professor of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences A.S.Kadyrbayev, Professor of the Central University Guru Gasidas Ramakrushna Pradhan (India), PhD of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan Sh.R.Tokhtiev, Associate Professor of the Kastamonu University, PhD Shimshek Haji-Ahmet Mustafa (Turkey) иparticipated remotely, making presentations on various issues related to the countries of the East.
In the afternoon, the breakout sessions of the conference were attended by representatives of diplomacy, scientists from domestic, far and near abroad, diplomats, representatives of cultural centers, doctoral and undergraduates studying current problems of the countries of the East.
