The master's student of the specialty "Ethnopolitology" Alena Shevtsova took part in a meeting with the UNDP

As part of the research based internship, Alyona Shevtsova, an intern at the Institute of Economic Research, took part in a working meeting organized by UNDP on the topic: "National basic assessment of the implementation of the Guidelines of entrepreneurship in the aspect of human rights in Kazakhstan."

During the meeting, various experts and analysts from different ranges of expertise presented reports and held discussions regarding the identification of the main areas and risks in the field of business and human rights in Kazakhstan, allowing to conduct an assessment of the adverse effects on human rights associated with entrepreneurial activity. As a result, a recommendation base has been laid for the formation of a National Plan in the field of business and human rights in Kazakhstan. Representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Kazakhstan, the Office for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan shared their experience in the adoption of the National Plan.

Since scientific meetings are known to be a platform for knowledge exchange, conferences of this type for students, especially intern researchers, are not only an opportunity to listen to the reports of invited experts, get access to new information on a topic of interest to them, but also a chance to make valuable contacts.

Also Alena took part in the seminar which organized by Coca-Cola Icecek Kazakhstan.

The seminar was organized in the form of a dialogue between different representatives, from government agencies to young people who interested in solving acute social and other issues. At the last workshop, ideas for implementing commitments in the field of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals in various areas were discussed, in which the intern productively participated.
