Eurasian young orientalists represented Kazakhstan in Japan

A 4th year student of the Japanese department of the Department of Oriental Studies, Kumisbek Medina, took part in the “Program for Outstanding Foreign Students” from September 6th till 20th, 2023, organized and sponsored by the Japan Foundation, where she represented Kazakhstan.

This year, 42 representatives from the CIS countries, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa received the opportunity to visit the Land of the Rising Sun.

The program included attending Japanese language classes and master classes in Japanese calligraphy, meeting a Japanese family, visiting the famous sights of the cities of Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Miyajima Island.

This trip provided the young orientalist with the opportunity to become better acquainted with the country of her specialization, to see Japanese cultural objects in reality and to better understand the Japanese mentality.
