Training and employment

According to assessments of employers, the current educational programs and disciplines held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University meet the requirements of labor market and society. The main evidence of that is a high level of employment among graduates from the Department of Regional Studies. For example, among 31 graduates of Bachelor's degree program of 2017, 20 have been employed in the first month, 17 of them are working within their specialty. Eleven bachelors joined to Master’s programs in ENU and abroad. Also, 2 graduates now on maternity leave, and 1 graduate was enlisted in the army.

The graduation rate of the department of regional studies in 2018 was 50 people. Of these, undergraduate graduates - 36 people, graduate - 11 people, doctoral studies - 3 people. Total employed 50 people. The number of graduates who studied under the state order is 27 people (Bachelor degree - 15, Master's program - 9 and Doctoral studies - 3), of which 27 people are employed in the first year after graduation (Bachelor degree - 36, Master's degree - 9 and Doctoral studies - 3) (100 %). The number of graduates who graduated from the master's scientific and pedagogical direction and doctoral studies - 11 Doctoral studies - 3, of them employed in educational institutions and scientific organizations in the first year after graduation - 30 people Undergraduate, Magistracy - 9, Doctoral studies - 3) (80%).

 

 

Each year, graduated with Bachelor’s degree in "Regional Studies" successfully continue their studies within Master’s programs in Kazakhstan universities, as well as leading universities in America, Europe and Asia. In 2017, 86% of graduates have been employed in the first months after graduation in accordance with Kazakhstan government’s order for young specialists. Graduates of the Department of regional studies occupy high-level positions in state institutions, foreign-policy establishment, national and foreign companies, leading universities, research centers and institutes.

 Today, Master students have opportunities to conduct work experience internship in the Office of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan; the Senate; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Institute of Public Policy "Nur-Otan"; Open World Center for Analysis and Forecasting; Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Promstan Asia LLP; Research Institute "Public Opinion", etc.

In 2017, the Department of Regional Studies has successfully defended Ph.D. dissertation of two doctoral candidates. Both of them were immediately employed within the specialty, andA. Ibraeva was admitted to the department as a senior lecturer.
