Since 2015, the Department together with partner universities from Russia (Saratov, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg), Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek, Osh), Uzbekistan (Tashkent), Tajikistan (Dushanbe), organizes and conducts youth schools and expert meetings on the topic of Eurasian integration, prevention of extremism among young people. Partners of the Department are the following research centers: center for geopolitical studies "Berlek-Edinstvo", expert club "Ural-Eurasia" (Ekaterinburg, Russia), "Russian-Kazakhstani expert IQ club" information-analytical Centre "Eurasia-Volga region" scientific-educational center for the study of CIS and Baltic countries, IIMO SSU named N. G. Chernyshevsky, the "Workshop of Eurasian ideas," the center of analytical studies "Eurasian monitoring", expert club "Siberia-Eurasia" and so on.

December 2, 2015 completed 3 Autumn school of regional studies. In its work took part the Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in Kazakhstan Francisation, Ambassador of Spain Pedro josé Sanserino and teachers of the Department of regional studies. The school was closed by a guest from St. Petersburg, a prominent scientist-historian, doctor of Sciences Kantor Y. Z.
In October of the same year, the University hosted an international conference - the Second Eurasian regional studies readings on "Central Asia and the Asia-Pacific region: new horizons of interaction". Articles of the conference were published in the collection of scientific papers.
November 30, 2016 at the faculty of international relations was held an event of the Kazakh-Russian expert club on "real policy for Eurasia: risks and forecasts." Teachers of the Department took an active part in this event.
