Teachers and students of the Department of international relations were trained in France

From October 16 to October 25, 2017, the head of the Department of International Relations, Azmukhanova A.M., the teacher Zhanbulatova R.S., as well as undergraduates of the Department of International Relations of the L.N Gumilyov ENU were on probation in France, Paris. The internship was organized and conducted under the guidance of G. Tomski, President of the International Concord Academy (IAC, Paris) and lecturer of the Department of International Relations of the ENU  R. S Zhanbulatova as a representative of the IAC in Kazakhstan.

The internship program was extremely productive. It began with the participation of trainees in the international scientific and practical conference "Modernization of public consciousness: the Kazakhstan’s way and the model of N. Nazarbayev", which was held on October 17 at the UNESCO headquarters. At the conference, the program article of the President of Kazakhstan "A Look into the Future: Modernization of Public Consciousness" was presented. The moderator of the conference was the rector of L.N. Gumilyov ENU professor, academician E. B. Sydykov. At the conference, in which Kazakhstani and foreign experts took part, it was repeatedly emphasized that the adaptability and competitiveness, which are presented in the article of the President as the main guidelines for social development, can become paramount  not only for the Kazakhstani but for the entire world community. In the speeches of foreign scientists, in particular the famous French experts A. Fischler, E. Dupee, D. Arshambo, Kazakhstan's model of modernization of society is highly appreciated, Kazakhstan's efforts to ensure international stability and security, peace and international cooperation in various fields are underlined.

We were lucky enough to see the exhibits of the exhibitions opened in the central hall of UNESCO, which were devoted to the main directions of the program "Ruhani zhangyru". Video tour of historical places of our country, book exhibition, exposition "Golden Man", pictures of famous Kazakh artists acquainted with the traditions of Kazakh people, language, culture, with the main stages of development of independent Kazakhstan. An unforgettable event for the participants was the gala concert "Uly dala sazy", presented in the hall where the annual sessions of the General Conference of UNESCO are held.

One of the main internship activities was the IAC scientific seminar devoted to the topic "International Organizations and Scientific Cooperation", during which the participants of the internship discussed actual problems and main directions of cooperation of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the UN institutes, including with UNESCO. It is noteworthy that this seminar was also held at UNESCO Headquarters. You can get acquainted with the materials of this scientific event by reading the articles of the participants published in the next issue of the magazine "CONCORDE", placed on the site of the well-known electronic library "Cyberleninca" (https://cyberleninka.ru/journal/n/concorde).

We took an active part in scientific events that took place on October 19, 2017 at the Paris Institute for Political Studies SciencesPo (by the way, it is considered the forge of the political and diplomatic elite of France). First, it is a conference devoted to the pressing problems of the development of the states of Africa and the countries of the Persian Gulf: "Afrique de l'Est: surprenantes élections dans un environnement troublé".

In addition, for us, internationalists, participation in a scientific seminar on European integration has given a lot of experience. The speaker - Professor S. Saurugger (Sciences Po Grenoble) and the discussion partner - M. Rosano-Grange (Sciences Po-CERI) was very interesting and more than detailed about the crisis points of European integration at the present stage.

One can not ignore another extraordinary event: a three-day international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution. It was organized by several well-known research and university institutions of France and their foreign partners, in particular École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Labex Tepsis, Center for French-Russian Studies (CEFR, Moscow), Paris-Diderot University, Strasbourg University, etc. A conference was held in the building of the University of Paris INALCO (National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations) from October 19 to 21, 2017. I would like to note that INALCO was established in 1669, and it has a special Eurasian Department and an observatory of post-Soviet countries that are studying the situation in the post-Soviet countries abroad. And on October 17, 2017 the library of INALKO opened the center of Kazakhstan literature and culture.

During the internship, we managed to combine the useful with the pleasant: we visited the Versailles conference, where we discussed the influence of Versailles on the cultural life of France, its role in French literature, the life and work of prominent public figures, writers, philosophers such as Montesquieu, Proust and others, and then passed through the halls and corridors of the Palace of Versailles. Needless to say, what does the term "Versailles Conference" mean for an international student? In the halls, auditoriums and lobby of the Sorbonne Paris Cite Pantheon University, where we had a lecture, we were struck by the deeply symbolic connection of the great achievements of French science, education, culture and culture with the present, and the aspiration for the future.

And, finally, one of the important moments of the internship: the development of ties with the Kazakh diaspora in France. Of course, for us, international affairs, this is of great importance. We emphasize that in the Foreign Policy Concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2014-2020, support for the Diaspora and the Kazakh language abroad is represented as one of the priorities of the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which actualizes the importance of closer interaction with the Kazakh diaspora. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, N.A. Nazarbayev, in his programmatic article "Looking into the Future: Modernizing Public Consciousness" emphasizes: "The first condition for modernizing a new type is the preservation of its culture, its own national code. Without this, modernization will turn into an empty sound. "The head of state is convinced that "for the first time in a thousand-year history our culture will sound on all continents and in all major languages of the world."

We assure that such an event occurred during an international conference and a gala concert at UNESCO headquarters on October 17, 2017. We believe that in the future, the popularization of the Kazakh language and culture will be possible due to fruitful interaction with representatives of the Kazakh diaspora, which makes a great contribution to the preservation of the Kazakh language, national traditions and spiritual values of the Kazakh people. We were convinced of this during our meetings with representatives of the Kazakh community in Paris during the internship.
