In the period from November 10 to 19, 2017, Master students of second grade of the Faculty of International Relations of the specialty "regional studies": Beksultanova Dinara, Tugzhanova Aiganym and Tazhibayev Ulugbek studied at the Center for Romance Studies at the Faculty of International Relations of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi.
Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi is the leading multidisciplinary higher educational institution in Kazakhstan. KazNU includes 15 faculties, a college, an advanced training institute, 7 research institutes, 25 specialized dissertational councils for the protection of doctoral dissertations in 67 specialties, more than 20,000 students, undergraduates and doctors are trained at the university. The scientific infrastructure also includes 11 centers.
According to the results of the study of the international rating agency QS World University Rankings, KazNU in 2016-2017 academic year ranked 236 among the 800 best universities in the world. In the rating of QS University Rankings for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (QS University Rankings EECA 2016), KazNU ranked 11 out of 200.
January 31, 2017 at the Faculty of International Relations was held a grand opening ceremony of the "Romance Research Center". Today Romance languages are spoken more than 1 billion people around the world, from Europe to America, from Africa to Asia. Faculty of International Relations KazNU takes a leading role in the study of languages and cultures of Spain and Italy, as well as in maintaining cultural ties between the two countries and Kazakhstan. Romance direction is crucial in preparation of future professionals in international relations.
The center aims to unite Romanists from different countries, to become a platform for the study and promotion of the Romance languages, the foundation for joint research projects and open programs of double-diploma education with leading universities of Italy and Spain.
The internship program included acquaintance with the university activities and the training process, acquaintance with the main research directions of the faculty of international relations, the course of lectures, as well as undergraduates were acquainted with the electronic and catalog fund, bibliographic databases of the extensive library of the Center for Romance Studies, received the necessary consultations with employees of KazNU.
Departure for scientific-research internship acquainted graduate students with the method of studying in other universities of Kazakhstan, allowed to study and analyze research topics.
