On April 22, 2021, as part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of our university, a lecture by a well-known literary critic, Corresponding Member of the NAS of the RK, a Turkologist, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Academician of the International Academy Sh. Aitmatov, Sharip Amantai Zharylkasynuly held on the topic "ENU at the turn of the century".
During the lecture, Amantay Zharylkasynuly spoke in detail about the history of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University during his tenure as vice-rector and gave a detailed overview of the work done. He noted that the best students from all over the country who graduated from school with the "Golden Badge" were taken to the university, provided with a place in a new dormitory, and travel expenses were reimbursed. He also noted that today most of these young people lead important sectors of the state.
The scientist also noted that the university combines education, science and culture and has become a cultural center of spirituality, a center of art. He noted that the best citizens of the country were invited to create the university, which today is the leading educational institution of the country, and they are actively involved in the life of the university. In addition, he noted the special support and attention of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the further development and prosperity of the university at a high level. For the first time, at the invitation of the rector, he very effectively and beautifully described the interesting historical moments of his visit to the university, describing the events of the ENU chronicle with specific dates.
According to the scientist, today, under the leadership of E.B. Sydykov L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University has become a world famous university and has established broad international cooperation. Therefore, every student studying at the university needs to know that the history, structure and development of the university are full of various difficulties and interests.
At the end of the lecture, the teachers of the university thanked the scientist for an interesting memory. Dean of the Faculty M.M. Kosybayev expressed gratitude, noting that the good deeds of the brothers of the first wave, led by Myrzatay Zholdasbekov, led by Dikhan Kamzabekuly, and representatives of the middle generation, such as Amantay Zharylkasynuly, are being successfully implemented.
