Department of Regional Studies

 

 

The Department of Regional Studies was established on September 5 2006,  at the Faculty of International Relations. The department was created by guidance of a famous domestic scientist, doctor of historical sciences, Professor Tulibayeva Zhuldyz Musaevna. This is the period of formation of the department to which veterans greatly contributed - Ph.D. Associate Professor Kilybaeva P.K, Ph.D., Associate Professor Bukeshova G.K, Ph.D., Associate Professor Aytbayeva R.T, Ph.D., Associate Professor Toporina T.V, to Associate Professor Alekseenko A.S., Ph.D., Associate Professor Marmontova T.V., Professor Sokolovsky A.M.

 

Currently, the department is headed by Dr. PhD, Associate Professor Ospanova Aigerim Nuralievna.

 

  

Nowadays, the department consists of highly qualified teachers. The members of the department Regional Studies are 4 doctors of science, 5 doctors of PhD, 6 candidates of sciences and 4 masters.

The studying in all educational programs is conducted in the Kazakh, Russian and English languages ​​by highly qualified faculty.

Today the department is a leading center for training regional studies in Kazakhstan. In 2019, the educational program was specialized accreditation for teaching undergraduate and graduate and doctoral studies.

The Department of Regional Studies combines rich traditions and experience of regional studies knowledge accumulated over the decade of its existence, uses new technologies and principles of the educational process, actively introducing new educational methods. During this time, the teachers of the department published monographs, educational and teaching manuals, developed the author's training courses.

 

The department creates the necessary conditions for self-realization of the students' personality: meetings with prominent domestic and foreign scientists, ambassadors, politicians, round tables, scientific and methodical conferences, thematic curatorial hours are held; sports competitions in various sports; organized visits to cultural sites: exhibitions, museums, theaters.
