Lecturers of the department have high language skills, some of them speak several languages. In order to improve the content of education, much attention is paid to the scientific growth of lecturers.
Annually lecturers of the department take part in international conferences, methodological seminars, advanced training courses abroad (the USA, Italy, France, Great Britain, Germany, India, Russia and Turkey, etc.).
Associate Professor Beissembayeva S.T. in 2013 became a grant student of the Goethe-Institute in Berlin and passed a refresher course in teaching foreign languages in the Blended Learning mode.
In 2013-14 lecturers of the department Kadyskyzy A., Khassenova R.T. and Karbayeva G.K. became winners of the presidential scholarship "Bolashak" and completed the international course on "Education Management" in Montreux, Switzerland.
In 2015 the team of the Department of Foreign Languages, consisting of Kadrina B.Sh., Khassenova R.T. and Milovanova N.V. won the first place in the professional skills competition among teachers of the English language of higher educational institutions in Astana organized by InterPress Distribution LLP, the official representative of Oxford University Press in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
In May 2017 according to the results of 2016/2017 academic year the Department of Foreign Languages was recognized as "The Best Educational Department of the Year".
In 2019-2020 academic year the entire teaching staff of the department passed advanced professional development courses at the international level, including 7 lecturers who took international advanced training courses "Innovative Educational Technologies and Didactic Models", organized as a part of the Erasmus project from April 6 to 19, 2020. The following lecturers passed the professional development courses abroad:
1. Beissembayeva S.T. - acting Associate professor. The professional development courses on “Unusual Austria: language and culture between the lines”, organized in Vienna by the Austrian the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research from July 08 to August 05, 2019. Credits: 2ECTS
2. Smolina L.I. – Senior lecturer, a grant holder of the Government of France. A trip to France from December 14 to 22, 2019 with the aim of advanced training in the Francophonia linguistic center.
3. Yergaliyeva K.O. – Senior lecturer, a grant holder of the Government of France. A trip to France from December 14 to 22, 2019 with the aim of advanced training in the Francophonia linguistic center.
In December 2019, on the eve of Independence Day, L.N. Gumilyov Medal of the Eurasian National University was awarded to Senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages Lyudmila I. Smolina. The letter of appreciation of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan was awarded to Senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages Kunsulu O. Yergaliyeva.
On May 23, 2020 on the eve of the 24th anniversary of establishing L.N. Gumilyov ENU the diploma were awarded to the teaching staff of the department for their significant contribution to training highly qualified specialists and valuable participation in the public life of the faculty and the university: Kaliyeva A.B., Meirambekova L.K., Yergaliyeva K.O., Kadyskyzy A., Saliyeva D.O.
In 2020, Smolina L.I. and Ergaliyeva K.O. passed courses on the methodology of teaching French as a foreign language, organized by the French Embassy in Uzbekistan and the French Alliance in Nur-Sultan.
In 2021 Meirambekova L.K., Mutali A.K., Yesengaliyeva A.M. and Ergaliyeva K.O. completed international online advanced training courses "Education of experts in the evaluation of textbooks and educational and methodological complexes" (National University of Athens named after Kapodistrias, Greece).
Meirambekova L.K., Mutali A.K., Yesengaliyeva A.M., Kalieva A.B., Kulakhmetova Zh.T. completed online courses on the topic "Higher education in the humanities in European countries: the use of modern digital technologies", organized by French universities and the Eurasian Academy of Technologies and Communications.
Kudabayeva A.Zh. completed an online internship as part of the Bookpecker project, organized by the international NGO PeaceX.
In 2022, the head of the department Meirambekova L.K. became the owner of the international scholarship "Bolashak" for studying in the USA in the specialty "English language (teaching), under the program "Internship". Planned period of study: 06/01/2022-12/01/2022.
