LITERATURE OF THE GREAT STEPPE

On December 24, in the Turkish city of Denizli, an international scientific symposium dedicated to Tonyukuk was held, organized by the National Commission for UNESCO of Turkey and the University of Pamukkale,

At the opening of the symposium, a presentation of the fundamental work of the Turkologist, Professor Myrzatay Zholdasbekov "Literature of the Great Steppe", translated into Turkish with the assistance of the Eurasian Union of Writers and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkey, took place. The translation of the work into Turkish was carried out by the teacher of Pamukkale University Zhazira Otyzbaeva.

As you know, for the 1300th anniversary of the Tonyukuk monument, which is the common heritage of the Turkic peoples, UNESCO declared 2020 the Year of Tonyukuk. The presentation was timed to coincide with the collegiate meeting of the world's outstanding scientists.

The presentation was made by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Turkey Abzal Saparbekuly, Chairman of the Eurasian Union of Writers Yakub Omeroglu, who elaborated on the life of M. Zholdasbekov, his fundamental research in the field of Turkology, the significance of his work "Literature of the Great Steppe", emphasizing the great contribution of the book into the literature of the Turkic world.

The author of the work, Myrzatay Zholdasbekov, took part in the presentation in the format of a video conference. The scientist spoke about ancient Turkic monuments, about the stages of development of Kazakh literature, about his works in the field of Turkic studies. The scientist also spoke about the studies of the musical heritage, Korkyt Ata, conducted under his leadership. It is worth noting that last year the work of M. Zholdasbekov "Uly Dala agyny - Zhambyl Zhabayev", as well as the work of his student, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Alkuat Kazakhbaev "Korkyt Ata akyzdary men kuileri" were published in Turkey in Turkish.

The scientist's report and its translation into Turkish aroused great interest among the conference participants.

The collection of the scientist-Turkologist M. Zholdasbekov "Literature of the Great Steppe" is a fundamental scientific work that includes works of an epic nature laid down in the ancient Turkic era, and in later eras - the traditional poetic art of kazakh zhyrau and zhyrshy. It should be noted that for this work M. Zholdasbekov was awarded the Abai State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
