President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev declared 2020 as “ the Year of Volunteers”. In this regard, lectures of the Faculty of International Relations of L.N. Gumilyov ENU organized the event "To do good - to be courageous." The purpose of the event is to promote and develop charitable ideas among students and support active civic initiatives.
On January 29, 2020, the youth wing of the "JAS OTAN" of ENU supported the “We Are Together” campaign and cleared snow from the homes of some elderly people. Students together with their lectures of Foreign Languages Department of the FMO Mutali A.K. (IR-11), Beisembaeva S.T. (IR-31, IR-32) and Kadyskyzy A. (P-23, OS-11) worked and took their time to help with this good work.
On Feb.06, 2020, students of A. Kadyskizy (PST-21) went to kindergarten No. 46 “Samal”, presented books to children and held the Winter Olympic Games with children and their parents. On Feb.14, 2020, in the framework of celebration of the 175th anniversary of Abai, students of the same group visited the monument of Abai and laid flowers. They introduced the children of the kindergarten to the work of Abai and learned his poems with them.
The event “To do good - to be courageous” called on all students to show kindness and provide all possible assistance to those who need it. Kindness within the framework of the Year of Volunteers promotes spiritual and moral qualities in young people and promotes the development of program “Rukhani zhangyru”.
