The scientists of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Armenia

At the foot of the Ararat mountains located the Republic of Armenia, with a unique centuries-old culture, incredibly talented people, known throughout the world; a country that has survived complex historical and modern cataclysms.

At the invitation of the Armenian colleagues and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Armenia, the Rector of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University E.B. Sydykov, also scientists and creative personalities of the university, made a visit to Armenia. The visit took place from September 27 to October 1, 2018, the program of the visit was very rich, creative and fruitful.

On September 28, the delegation visited the Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts and participated in a roundtable, at which acted the rector E.B. Sydykov, who covered Kazakhstan-Armenian relations in the field of research and study of Armenian-Kipchak monuments, as well as the director of the Institute of Manuscripts Van Ter-Gewondian, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Armenia T. Urazaev, the Director of the National Center of Manuscripts and Rare Books of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Saduov, the Director of Scientific Center "The library of Otyrar", Doctor of Economics E. Aryn, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the department of Turkology N. Shaimerdinova.

            A memorandum of cooperation between the Institute of Rare Manuscripts of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Armenia was signed at the Matenadaran, and a scientific conference was held, which was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan T. Urazaev, scientists of Kazakhstan and Armenia.

             The conference was devoted to topical issues of research of Armenian-Kipchak monuments, issues of professional training of undergraduates, PhD students, graduate students in the study of monuments.

            A. Saduov, professors N. Shaimerdinova, S. Tahan, also Armenian researchers like V. Ter-Gevondian, A. Safaryan, S. Kezaryan, and other scientists made presentations at the conference. The report of Professor N. Shaymerdinova outlined the various aspects of the studied language of Armenian-Kipchak monuments, noted the prospects for a joint study of ancient manuscripts by Kazakh and Armenian scientists. Professor S. Tahan dedicated his report to the historical Kazakh-Armenian relations in the field of culture and literature. The rector of L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University E.B. Sydykov, in concluding the conference, noted the importance of such bilateral contacts, emphasized their focus on the implementation of the agreements, built by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev and the Prime Minister of Armenia N. Pashinyan. The reception of the Kazakh delegation at the Yerevan State University (YSU) by the rector Aram Grachevich Simonyan was also important. In the speeches of the rectors of ENU and YSU E.B. Sydykov and A.G. Simonyan sounded specific topics of cooperation in the educational and scientific activities of the two universities.         

On the evening of September 28, the artists of L.N. Gumilyov ENU K. Myrzhakbay, L. Glinka, A. Bekbosyn held a musical evening "Abai and Pushkin" for the broad of Armenian, Kazakh public with the participation of ambassador T. Urazaev. The cultural program of the visit was also interesting: a visit to the pagan and Christian temples in Garni, Geghard, the famous Lake Sevan.
